Would you date this cat?

(if you were a cat)

Swipe on other people’s cats, pick a silly reason and see if the crowd agrees. Nobody gets a date. That’s the point.

The swipe deck: Mochi, an orange tabby, with four reason buttons under the card and the no, Super Meow and yes buttons.
The app’s first screen: a yellow wall of tilted cat photos with stickers, above “Would you date this cat?” and a Show me cats button.
A pink crowd verdict, “72% would date Mochi. You agree with the crowd. Top: Dead gifts = love”, over the next card.
  • 4 reasons per cat
  • 9 Super Meows a day
  • 0 DMs. Ever.

Step one

First, become a cat.

You are a human cat.

  • Ears: installed
  • Whiskers: calibrated
  • Standards: lowered
  • Opinions about boxes: strong

Good. Now judge.

You vote as yourself, just furrier. The first card is a practice round, so nothing you do there counts. Enjoy it.

The practice round, titled “You’re a cat now.”: Mochi’s card with HISS, KISS and Super Meow hints and the line “or tap the reason that says it best”.

How it works

Swipe on strangers’ cats.

  1. → Kiss

    Right means yes.

Mochi brings you dead gifts. You call it love.

  2. ← Hiss

    Left means no.

Sir Reginald screams at 4 a.m. and refuses to explain. You have work tomorrow.

  3. ↑ Super Meow

    Up means very, very yes.

Void is mysterious and matches your outfit. You only get nine a day.

Or tap a reason.

Every card comes with four buttons, two yes and two no. Tapping one is a vote with the reason attached, and owners see which ones win.

  • Pink means yes
  • Sky means no
  • Yellow means Super Meow

After every vote

Then the crowd weighs in.

No match, no chat, no waiting by the phone. A pink block drops in with the number, your mood and the top reason. Then the next cat.

  1. Kiss Mochi “You agree with the crowd”
  2. Hiss Sir Reginald “Cold. Most said yes.”
  3. Super Meow Void “Bold. Most said no.”

The buttons

Reasons are the fun part.

Every cat gets four: two yes, two no. The AI writes them in the cat’s voice, the owner signs off, and you tap the one that says it best. That’s your vote.

Real examples: Dead gifts = love. Named Kevin. Screams at 4 a.m. Mysterious. Hot. Looks like a thumb. Teddy is a green flag. Third wheel: a bear. Queen behaviour.

Kevin, a black and white tuxedo cat, glaring at the camera with glowing eyes. Top reason: named Kevin Pro napper
Kevin 5Tuxedo · London · a short Eurostar away

Kevin gets a lot of votes. Most of them are about his name.

Nine Lives

Super Meow. Use wisely.

Nine a day, like lives. Swipe up when a plain yes won’t cover it. The owner sees the count, never who sent it.

Nine a day. Super Meows left today

  1. Void
  2. Princess Beans
  3. Professor Whiskerton
  4. Sultan
  5. Baroness von Floof
  6. Olive (and teddy)
  7. Raisin
  8. Marmalade
  9. Mochi, again

All out. Nine new ones tomorrow. Spend them like a cat would: on impulse.

For owners

Put your cat up for judgement.

One photo in, a whole personality out. You approve every word before strangers get a vote.

The rules

A dating app with no dating.

It looks like a dating app. It isn’t one. Here’s everything you can’t do, on purpose.

  • No chat.

Nothing to reply to. Nobody left on read.

  • No matching.

The crowd verdict is the whole ending. It’s enough.

  • No DMs.

Not even with a really good opening line.

  • No contact. Ever.

Nobody can reach you here. Just cats.

The sign-in screen, “Make your votes count.”, with three promises: no name, no email; your votes stay yours; no chat, no matching. Below, a Sign in with Apple button.

Signing in

One tap. No name, no email.

Sign in with Apple, so every vote is one real person. The app doesn’t ask Apple for your name or your email, and owners only ever see totals, never who voted.

The house rules screen: Cats only. Be nice. No contact details. Report anything weird.

House rules

Short, because cats don’t read.

  1. Cats only.No people, no dogs in costume.
  2. Be nice. The joke is about the cats, never about their humans.
  3. No contact details. No handles, links or phone numbers. Not that kind of app.
  4. Report anything weird.Every report gets checked within 24 hours.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content or abuse: it gets removed, and the account goes with it.

The serious bit, briefly

Some of them are still looking for a home.

Verified animal shelters can post their adoptable cats. Those cards carry a “Looking for a home” badge and one link: to the shelter’s own adoption page. It’s the only link on any card, and it still isn’t a way to contact other users.

Example Partner shelters are announced at launch. The shelters and cats below are placeholders.
